Our Beliefs

  • We believe that the words of the original writing of the sixty-six books comprising the Bible was inspired by God, and the product of Spirit-controlled men.  Therefore it is truth without error.  The Bible, and the Bible alone, is God's sufficient and absolute authority in all matters of life.  The proper understanding of Scripture is based upon the grammatical, historical and normal interpretation of the Bible. ~ 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:3, 19-21; 2 Timothy 2:15

  • We believe that there is only one living and true God, and that in the unity of the Godhead are three persons:  The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  They are equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. ~ Exodus 20:2, 3; Revelation 4:11; 1 John 5:7

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, miraculously conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and is truly God and truly man without sin.  He died so as to provide salvation for sinners, was physically resurrected, and ascended to the right hand of the Father enthroned in heaven.  Because He was truly tempted and lived as a man, He is in every way qualified to be a suitable, compassionate and all-sufficient Savior and High Priest. - Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:14; Philippians 2:5-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Luke 24:35-48; Hebrews 4:15

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person.  He was active in creation, restrains evil until God's purpose is fulfilled, convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching, and is the agent in the New Birth.  He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies and helps the believer. ~ John 14:16, 17; Matthew 28:19; Hebrews 9:14; John 14:26; Luke 1:35; Genesis 1:1-3; John 16:8-11; Acts 5:30-32; John 3:5, 6; Ephesians 1:13, 14; Romans 8:14, 16, 26, 27

  • We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of his Maker, and that by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless state.  All mankind are now sinners, not only by constraint, but of choice; and therefore under just condemnation without defense or excuse. ~ Genesis 3:1-6, 24; Romans 5:12, 19; 3:10-19; 1:18, 32

  • We believe that sinners must be born again; that the new birth is instantaneous and not a process; that the one dead in trespasses ans sins is made a partaker of the divine nature and receives eternal life, the free gift of God.  The New birth is brought about in a manner above our comprehension, solely by the power of the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth, so as to secure voluntary obedience to the Gospel.  Salvation is by grace alone in Christ alone through faith alone. ~ John 3:3; 1 John 3:6, 7; Acts 16:31; 2 Peter 1:4; Ephesians 2:1-10; Colossians 2:13; John 3:8

  • We believe that the local church is a congregation of immersed believers, associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel.  The center of God's program in this dispensation is the local church.  The local church observes the two ordinances of Christ which are water baptism and the Lord's Supper, and has two offices which are pastor and deacon.  The mission of the church is the edification of the saints which results in the saints of God serving fellow believers and witnessing of Christ to all men.  The local church as the right of self-governance as it follows its Head, the Lord Jesus Christ. ~ Ephesians 1:22, 23; 4:11-16; Acts 20:17-28; 1 Timothy 3:1-16; Colossians 1:18; Acts 15:13-18; Philippians 1:1

  • We believe that God's holiness demands that believers be holy in character, behavior and associations.  God's Word commands believers to separate ourselves unto God from worldliness, unbelief, ecumenism and ecclesiastical apostasy. Believers are to separate from any organization, entity, church or individual which denies the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ or the authority and sufficiency of the Scriptures.  The fruit of New Evangelicalism, which is the repudiation of Biblical separation, is the blending of theological liberalism with fundamentalism, and is contrary to God's Word. Trends including but not limited to the charismatic movement and the emergent church are not aligned with Scripture and must be avoided.  In order to be obedient and loyal to our Savior, we must also separate from disobedient brethren.  We are unapologetic in our stand on the whole counsel of God in the Scriptures, and at the same time graciously speak the truth in love. ~ 1 Peter 1:13-16; Romans 16:17; 1 Corinthians 5:11, 12; 2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:9, 10; 2 Thessalonians 2:15; 3:6-15; 1 Timothy 6:3-5; 2 John 9-11

  • We believe that Jesus Christ will call all the saints of the church age to meet Him in the air at the rapture.  The saints will give an account before the Judgment Seat of Christ for the deeds done in their bodies whether good or bad.  The rapture will be followed by the seven year Tribulation after which the Lord will visibly and bodily return to the earth to establish His Millennial Kingdom.  After the Millennium, all unregenerate men will stand before the Great White Throne of Almighty God, the righteous Judge. ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12; Revelation 4-19; Luke 1:32; Isaiah 9:6, 7; 32:1; Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15

  • We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interests and good order of society.  All civil authorities must be prayed for, conscientiously honored, and obeyed except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, the only Lord of the conscience. ~ Romans 13:17; 2 Samuel 23:3; Exodus 18:21, 22; Acts 23:5; 5:20; 4:19, 12; Daniel 3:17, 18; Matthew 22:21

  • We believe that God created out of nothing the heaven and the earth in six literal days. ~ Genesis 1-2

  • We believe that God has instituted and ordained marriage to be a sacred covenant before Him between one man and one woman until the death of one spouse. Human government can neither supersede nor annul God absolute authority over marriage.  Sexual activity is to be only within the bonds of marriage.  Homosexuality, lesbianism. bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography in any form are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex and contrary to Scripture.  God forbids any attempt to alter one's gender by surgery and appearance.  We stand unashamed in our belief concerning God's Word, and strive to show God's grace and love to those caught in sin. ~ Genesis 2:18-25; Malachi 2:13, 14; Daniel 3:17-18; Matthew 28:18; Mark 10:2-12; 1 Corinthians 7:3, 4, 10; Hebrews 13:4; Romans 7:1, 2; Genesis 1:27; 19:5, 13; Romans 1:26, 27; 1 Corinthians 5:1-6:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8
