The Open Door
The Seven Churches of Revelation
Family
Every year from Mother's Day to Father's Day, the Sunday morning messages focus on the Bible's teaching concerning the family. For 2018, the theme is "one another." The Bible teaches believers how to live with one another as a part of the body of Christ. The principles about how believers are to treat other believers have applications to the family.
Ephesians
The church's theme for 2018 is "The Amazing and Exciting Salvation Which the Church Shares." The goal of this year's theme is that believers are taught and reminded of the details of their salvation, are amazed and excited by their salvation, and respond to their blessings by living a life pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians is an epistle which details God's spiritual blessings which have been lavished upon those who are in Christ. The detailing of these spiritual blessings are followed by teaching on how to live a worthy life in response to these blessings. The epistle concludes with teaching about the spiritual battle in which believers are engaged--living a godly life in light of spiritual blessings is a spiritual war.
The Development of the Church in Acts
Presently, the local church is at the center of God's eternal plan. As such it is to be given sacred preeminence above all human institutions. The book of Acts covers the birth and early development of the local church. It serves as a pattern for today's local church.
Life of King Hezekiah
Many Biblical truths can be learned and implemented from the kings of Israel and Judah. Hezekiah did things which pleased the Lord, and things which were displeasing to the Lord. He began his rule over Judah well, but ended his rule badly.
Salvation Word Study
The church's theme for 2018 is "The Amazing and Exciting Salvation Which the Church Shares." The goal of this year's theme is that believers are taught and reminded of the details of their salvation, are amazed and excited by their salvation, and respond to their blessings by living a life pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ.
The subject of salvation is similar to light which passes through a prism. The light enters the prism and is then refracted into the colors which compose light. The Bible contains many words which comprise the subject of salvation. This series examines the various words of salvation.
Genetics
Over the past couple of years, there have been significant news stories about genetic diseases and which babies should be allowed to live--Charlie Gard in England and the abortion of babies who have Down Syndrome in Iceland and Denmark. (It is increasing in many other countries because of prenatal testing.) These news stories raise significant questions by many in society including Believers. This series will evaluate genetics, and its related issues from a Biblical perspective.
Depression
God has equipped the local church with everything that is necessary for the edification of the saints. Furthermore, God uses saints to help saints as they experience difficulties in life such as depression. This series delves into the Bible's teaching concerning the local church's responsibility to help one another with life's struggles as well as the Bible's teaching about depression.
Romans
The Gospel is God's powerful message of salvation. The Epistle to the Romans delves into the details of salvation and its various aspects and applications. It is because of the Gospel that the unregenerate sinner is justified. It is because of the Gospel that the believer is able to live a righteous, God pleasing life. It is the Gospel by which Israel will be saved in the future.
