Pastor Brian Demers was born in 1969 in Auburn, Maine. After
graduating from High School, he attended Pensacola Christian College in
Pensacola, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in
Bible from PCC in 1992.
He was married to Caryl, his wife, in
1997. They have three children. For eighteen months he
helped lead Riverside Drive Baptist Church in the absence of a
pastor. The church officially called him to permanently fill the
pastoral office in January 1999, where he presently ministers. He
was ordained by Riverside Drive Baptist Church in May, 2001.
Pastor Demers contributes articles and sits on the editorial board of
Convictions Journal,
a quarterly journal published by Riverside Drive Baptist Chruch in
conjunction with the First Baptist Church of North Conway, New
Hampshire and the Baptist Church of Danbury located in Danbury,
Connecticut. The purpose of the journal is to help churches
please the Lord in serving Him.
Convictions Journal is Fundamental, Baptist, Dispensational and Separatist.
Pastor Demers believes in the authority,
supremecy and sufficiency of the Word of God. He places a great
emphasis on teaching the truths of God's Word, connecting it with the
needs of believers on a practical level. His Scripture verse
which guides his ministry is II Corinthians 5:9: "We labor, that,
whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him."
